Rongelap Atoll Local Government is hiring for CITY MANAGER position.

         University Degree in Accounting, Business Management or Finance, preferably licensed CPA

         With a minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of Accounting, Finance or Auditing, preferably with experience in Human Resource Management.

         Organized, hardworking, result oriented.

         Preferably with knowledge in MIP Fund accounting 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review and approve documents and requests such as purchase requisition and purchase orders at the direction of the Mayor and consistencies with the Local Government’s policies.
  • Coordinate with different departments with matters concerning them such as activities, charter, and food requirements.
  • Establish financial and administrative controls in ways such as, complete documentation requirements before processing check payment and suspension of pay upon notice of leave of absence.
  • Advise the government official if the matter at hand is in line with the policy in place.
  • Assist the grant manager with the formulation and evaluation of proposed programs for grant assistance.
  • Prepare payroll and allotments, when needed.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Mayor’s Office, including but not limited to:

          Quarterly distribution including procedures of initiating the 177-fund transfer to proper banks for distribution to people of Rongelap and the required reports thereon.

          Draft resolution and prepare agendas for council meetings.

          Attend and conduct meetings as directed by the Mayor and recommend solution to issues discussed;

          Coordination with US Department of Interior with reports related to trust funds granted to the Local Government.

          Budget preparation and presentation to the City Council, constituents, and proper authorities such as US Department of Interior.
